2006 Season - Week 14
Hall of Fame – The Owners Wing
Congratulations to the inaugural Hall of Fame Owner. 6 owners received nominations with Dave G getting 1, Johnnie & Mark Bowden 2 each, Chief and Marcus 3 each but I am delighted to announce that with 5 votes Cheryl is the inaugural Hall of Fame Owner. 1 of 6 founder members in 1995 she finished 5th in the first season. In 1996 with 11 owners on board Cheryl won the Papas Fritas after an inspired pick-up of then Ram Eddie Kennison on Trading Day. A string of poor league performances followed with a 4th place in 1999 being the highlight. In 2000 she lost BUMSBowl V but the league was to get worse. 2002 saw her finish 9th in the Premiership & relegated. In 2003 she finished bottom of the Conference but has fought back since, finishing 3rd in 2004 to secure promotion & finishing 3rd in the Premiership last year as well as winning BUMSBowl X. Currently she is 2nd in the Prem.
Hall Of Fame Old School
This is a one-off never to be repeated vote to give props to great players who never got to spend 5 years in the BUMS. A list of the top 72 players at their positions (plus a few wildcards) were whittled down to 27 by a council of BUMS members to provide a more manageable shortlist. All you have to do is vote for your favourite top 7 in order who will then be awarded points as followed 10-7-5-4-3-2-1. The 14 highest will form the Hall of Fame - Old School. The names are attached. Please reply by December 31st.
Dave’s Double Delight
Two owners have put up big scores in the last fortnight as they try to get promoted. Last week Wayne made his 6th visit to the Scoring Hall of Fame as he scored 61 points - the 9th highest score in BUMS history. However Wayne failed to jump into the Promotion Zone as Dave G also made the Hall with 53 points. This week Dave made another visit as his 57 points put him in the Hall for a 5th time & moved into 2nd place in the Conference.
Injured Reserve
The Lions have placed RB Kevin Jones on IR so Mark can replace him as long as he stays inside the $10m budget. Any change must be with me before the Thursday night game.
BUMS on Seats.
